No Active Noise Cancelation

Only 5 hours of playback from one charge

Voonex Sound Element Duo Pros

Bluetooth 5.0

Most of the truly wireless earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.0, which is the benchmark amongst all top brands. Bluetooth 5.0 allows these buds to have a connectivity range of more than 40 ft which is more than enough for the user. The Voonex Sound Element Duo comes with faster transmission and the true wireless Duo system, automatically pairs and syncs your earbuds easily.

IPX7 Water Resistance rating

Another huge feature is that these earbuds have an IPX7 rating. This is ideal for fitness fanatics who won’t be needing to worry about using these earbuds in heavy rain. It has water resistance up to 3m for 30 minutes. We tried and tested after soaking the earbuds in water for 30 minutes and it works simply fine. This rating is on par with the more expensive truly wireless earbuds such as the Jabra Elite Active 75T.

Charging case with 2000mAh battery

The Voonex Sound Element Duo comes with 5 hours of uninterrupted playback time. This is decent battery performance but the real plus point in these buds is its charging case. The charging case is unique in every way. It comes with a massive 2000mAh battery which can charge the buds up to 20 times. This means the total playback time goes up to 100 hours. This is by far the best when it comes playback time. The closest you get could be the JLab Epic Air Sport which has approximately 65 hours of total playback.
The charging case can be used as a portable power source to charge other wearables or your phone in an emergency. The charging case comes with a digital screen that shows the battery percentage that is left in the case. This is much more accurate than having indicating lights on the case. Even though the battery is massive, it would only take one hour to charge the case since it comes with a USB Type-C charging cable which enables a quick charging facility.

Got all the controls within your grasp

The Voonex Sound Element Duo comes with touch-capacitive controls. It has all the basic functions such as Play/Pause, Answer/Decline, etc. Another major plus point in these buds is the fact that you control the volume from your buds as well. This is a function very rarely found in truly wireless earbuds, which makes these buds a real eye-catcher.

Voonex Sound Element Duo Cons

No Mobile Application

Voonex Sound is yet to make a mobile application for its users. There is no way the user can customize the controls or the sound output due to the lack of mobile applications. Apart from audio control, you don’t need the use of an app to customize controls because you already have the controls you need. However, there is no way to track these buds or a way to know the battery levels of these buds.

No Active Noise Cancelation

The Voonex Sound Element Duo does not have active noise cancellation. This is another reason why these buds cannot compete with the big league which includes brands such as the Apple Airpod Pro or the Sennheiser Momentum 2.

Only 5 hours of playback from one charge

These buds last only 5 hours from a full charge. This is way below par when it comes to other major brands. The Apple Airpod Pro lasts 4.5 hours even with Active Noise Cancelation switched on. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus lasts for 11 hours without Active Noise Cancelation. This is another reason why these buds are not able to compete with the major brands. However, the Voonex Sound Element Duo still possesses enough value for the money you spend.

Design and Durability

The Voonex Sound Element Duo is made of hard plastic material. Both buds come with responsive touch-capacitive controls. The buds stay flush in your ear and it has a secure fit so that the user does not need to worry about losing them while working out or jogging. There are no color options as of yet, the only one available is the black-colored ones on the website. In the box, you get three sizes of ear tips to choose from according to your liking.
These earbuds have an IPX7 rating. This is ideal for fitness fanatics who won’t be needing to worry about using these earbuds in the rain. The buds would last for 30 minutes in 3m underwater. We tried and tested after soaking the earbuds in water for 30 minutes and it works simply fine. This rating is above par with the more expensive truly wireless earbuds such as the Apple Airpod Pro.

App and Special Features

These buds do not come with a mobile application. There are no other special features worth mentioning as well. This is one area that Voonex could do better in their future models.

Audio Quality

The Voonex Sound Element Duo uses Tri-Frequency Tuning to produce quality sound output. It enhances the output with balanced highs and mids. The drivers push out rich bass which combines with highs and mids to give out a decent audio output. However, one negative in these buds is the fact that you do not get an equalizer to modulate the output as you wish.

Noise Cancelation

These buds do not have active noise cancelation. However, the buds do provide a sealed fit to drown away ambient noises to provide an undisturbed audio experience. The passive noise isolation is good but since there is no Hearthrough mode, you will not be hearing any noises from the outside world. This could be dangerous while walking on the road.

Battery and Performance

These buds last only 5 hours from a full charge. This is way below par when it comes to other major brands. The Apple Airpod Pro lasts 4.5 hours even with Active Noise Cancelation switched on. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus lasts for 11 hours without Active Noise Cancelation. This is another reason why these buds are not able to compete with the major brands. However, Voonex has compensated for the low battery life in the buds by including a charging case that can charge the buds 20 times more. You need not worry about getting through the day with these buds.

Charging Case

The charging case is the best feature of the Voonex Sound Element Duo. It comes with a massive 2000mAh battery which can charge the buds up to 20 times. This means the total playback time goes up to 100 hours. This is by far the best when it comes to truly wireless earbuds. The closest you get could be the JLab Epic Air Sport which has approximately 65 hours of total playback. The rest remain around 40 hours as an average.

The charging case can be used as a portable power source to charge other wearables or your phone in an emergency. There is a USB Type adaptor in the box for this purpose. The charging case comes with a digital display that shows the battery percentage that is left in the case. This is much more accurate than having indicating lights on the case. Even though the battery is massive, it would only take one hour to charge the case since it comes with a USB Type-C charging cable which enables a quick charging facility.

Call Quality & Connectivity

The Buds provide decent Call Quality compared to other buds in the same price range. However, it is not what you would get with a high-end brand such as the Apple Airpod Pro. The Voonex Sound Element Duo uses Bluetooth 5.0 which allows these buds to have a connectivity range of more than 40 ft which is more than enough for the user. However, there were few drops in connection that we experienced during our testing. The Voonex Sound Element Duo comes with faster transmission and the true wireless Duo system, automatically pairs and syncs your earbuds easily.

Final Say

For the price you pay for these buds, we would say you are getting more than what you pay for. The battery life and water resistance rating, themselves are worth the money you spend. However, you cannot expect the same quality as other expensive brands. Apart from few glitches when it comes to connectivity and call quality, these buds are ideal for someone who is not willing to pay extra bucks for truly wireless earbuds. This is what we think, do let us know in the comment section what you felt about these buds and share your review with the community.
