Welcome to yet another review of truly wireless earbuds. We got our hands on the Lypertek PurePay Z3. These were launched in March 2021 and it is an improved version of their previous truly wireless earbuds, the Lypertek SoundFree S20. The PurePlay Z3 is packed with some amazing features, that one would argue how they can include so many features with such a small budget. Well, that’s one of the major attributes in new brands compared to other established brands in the market. The new brands tend to have more features and sell for lower prices to capture the market.

The PurePlay Z3’s major attraction is the 10 hours of battery life and added 70-hour battery life provided from the charging case. It also comes with an IPX7 water-resistant rating, which adds a lot of value to the buds.
Another interesting feature is Bluetooth 5.2. It is the latest version used in the truly wireless earbuds which reduces battery consumption and provides a better connection. These are a few of the barrage of features these buds have. The real question is, do these work in real life? Do these buds live up to the expectation and promise? The Lypertek PurePlay Z3 truly wireless earbuds come with exciting features, uncomplicated design, good audio performance, and customizability which makes these user-friendly compared to most other brands.
The Lypertek PurePlay Z3 comes in a hard plastic design with a matte finish. These four sizes of ear tips to choose from. Small, medium, and large silicone tips and a medium-size Flexit foam tip. Both buds have physical button controls to give commands. The buds are lightly weighted due to the advanced technology used in battery consumption which allows the manufacturer to use smaller batteries without hindering the playback time.
When it comes to durability, these buds are amongst the top truly wireless earbuds in the market. With a water resistance rating of IPX7, these buds are safe from rain, sweat, and even accidental drop in the water. Users can wear these in the rain, during their high-intensity workout, or even leisure swim in the morning or the evening. This is a clear upgrade from the previous model, the Lypertek SoundFree S20 which came with an IPX5 rating.

These buds support both Google Assistant and Siri without any issue.
The Lypertek PurePlay Z3 comes with a mobile application. It is available on both Android and IOS platforms. The app shows the average battery life of both buds together and you can use the app to locate your buds in case you misplaced them. There are usual firmware updates and other related information on the buds. You can also customize controls up to a certain extent using the app and activate/deactivate ambient mode from it. The in-built equalizer allows the user to modulate the music according to their liking and you can also use LDX Audio to enjoy a larger soundstage and good sound separation. This is another feature that is lacking in the Lypertek SoundFree S20 and some other brands like the Apple Airpod Pro.
The ambient sound mode is there to use while walking on the road or in an office environment so that the user can know what is going on around him. The passive noise isolation in these buds is quite good in drowning out exterior noises which would isolate the user from the real world.
Similar to most other budgets-friendly truly wireless earbuds in the market, the Lypertek PurePlay Z3 also lacks firepower when it comes to audio performance. The Lypertek PurePlay Z3 comes with 6mm graphene drivers and it supports SBC, AAC, and aptX codecs. These buds stay way above other budget-friendly truly wireless earbuds because it offers natural and well-balanced audio. It provides a near-neutral sound that enables the user to hear songs and soundtracks as their creators intended, without any exaggerations. Usually, in budget products, the low end overpower the soundstage, but when you switch to LDX audio, the audio output becomes more refined for everyone to enjoy
This is the best feature out of all in the Lypertek PurePlay Z3. These boasts 10 hours of playback time from a single charge. This is way above par compared to most brands. The Jabra Elite Active 75t, which is considered one of the best also comes with less battery power. The Apple Airpod Pro or the Sennheiser Momentum II also falls way behind these buds when it comes to power consumption. The only model which does better in this department is the Samsung Galaxy buds plus which has 11 hours of battery life. In practical testing, these buds survived a little over 9.5 hours with volume up to 65% which is still above most brands
The charging case is unique in design but one of the best cases when it comes to power. It provides 7 full charging cycles, a total of 70 hours of playback to the buds, which is more than enough to get through the week. Only the Soundcore Liberty stands above with an excess of 100 hours of playback time. The charging case is roughly 8cm x 3cm x 4cm, and It is perfectly pocketable. It comes with USB-C charging and also supports Qi-wireless charging if needed.
