Review of Huawei Freebuds Pro Truly Wireless Earbuds.
The Huawei Freebuds Pro truly wireless earbuds are the latest truly wireless earbuds produced by Huawei. These buds come with Active Noise Cancelation, just like its predecessor, the Huawei Freebuds 3. Huawei launched these buds to compete with high-end truly wireless earbuds such as the Apple Airpod Pros.
We are back with another truly wireless earbuds review and this time we have the Huawei Freebuds Pro on the table. This is their fourth truly wireless earbuds launch. Since they released the Huawei Freebuds 1st Generation, they have come along way when it comes to quality and features. These buds come with Active Noise Cancelation. Huawei introduced ANC in their previous model, the Huawei Freebuds 3. The Freebuds Pro comes with new exciting features and most importantly the Microphone Performance is much better compared to many other truly wireless earbuds in the market.
Product Name: Huawei Freebuds Pro
Product Description: The Huawei Freebuds Pro has a battery life of 5 hours with Active Noise Cancelation on. The charging case adds another 17 hours of playback. With Active Noise Cancelation off it lasts up to 8 hours and 28 hours more from the charging case. It also comes with USB Type-C charging and it also supports Qi wireless charging.
The Huawei Freebuds Pro truly wireless earbuds have a comfortable design, excellent microphone quality, and an audio output that customizes according to the user. There are many positives in these Huawei Freebuds Pro, but there are few negatives that prevent these buds from being one of the best truly wireless earbuds in the market.
USB Type-C Charging + Wireless Charging
Hybrid Active Noise Cancelation
Bone Voice Sensor
Dual Anti-Wind Noise Design
Force Stem for controls + Huawei AI Life App
Dual Device Connection
No IP Rating
Mobile App does not support IOS devices.
Hard to handle with the case.
The Huawei Freebuds Pro supports dual connect. You can switch to your phone from the laptop/tab with just a pinch on the stem. You need not worry about having a disconnect from one device to connect to the other.
Another alarming factor in these buds. When you look at most of the truly wireless earbuds which come with mobile applications, they usually support all platforms. This will be a major concern for IOS users if they wish to buy these buds.
The unique design of the buds and the charging case also have their negatives. The design keeps the buds flushed in the case, which makes it hard to take them out of it.
Dynamic equalizer adjustment is done automatically by detecting real-time signal changes in the ear. It also detects the ear shape and wear status and adjusts the EQ dynamically to give the best output for the user.
The Huawei Freebuds Pro has a short stem design, like the Apple Airpod Pro. The stem has a force sensor and touch sensor for controls. The buds come in hard plastic and have a shiny finish to give it a rich look. In the box, you get three sizes of rubber ear tips. There are three color options: Ceramic White, Silver Frost, and Carbon Black.
When it comes to durability, it is a huge letdown. The buds do not come with an IP rating. This is one of the basic features when it comes truly wireless earbuds. Most buds at least have an IPX2 rating just to increase the durability factor. If you wish to buy these buds, you might want to get a separate to use during your workout session in the gym.
The Huawei Freebuds Pro comes with a force capacitive stem. It is much like the Airpod Pro which has the same force stem. The interesting factor is that the stem also has a touch sensor which enables the user to control the volume by swiping up/down on the stem.
Left Bud Buttons Functions
The three microphones work together to provide one of the absolute best noise cancelations when it comes truly wireless earbuds. The mics detect out-of-the-ear and in-ear ambient noise and use the dynamic drivers to create accurate anti-noise signals to cancel all the noises up to 40dB. The intelligent Dynamic Active Noise Cancelation detects ambient noise levels and switched the ANC modes for a suitable audio experience. There are three modes of Active Noise Cancelation. Ultra-mode is the highest level suitable for traveling on train or airplane. Cozy Mode is ideal for an office environment. It blocks away noises such as typing, computers, and occasional conversations in the workplace. The General Mode keeps away the ambient noise in a crowded café or a street.
Each bud is equipped with a 55mAh battery cell which would last up to 8 hours without Active Noise Cancelation. It drops down to 5 hours when you switch on noise cancelation which is still par with most other truly wireless earbuds which come with active noise cancelation. The Huawei Freebuds Pro also provides 3.5 hours of talk time with Active noise cancelation turned on.
